Collision Repair Starts With the Tow

When a vehicle has been in an accident, the first problem is not the paint or the panels. It is getting the vehicle off the road and to a shop that can look at it. That part is ours. Dent Removal & Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)

Not every dent requires a full repaint. Paintless dent removal is a fast, lower-cost approach for door dings, hail damage, and minor dents where the paint surface is still intact. A technician works the metal back to its original shape from behind the panel using specialized tools, with no filler and no refinishing. Because the factory paint is never disturbed, PDR tends to protect resale value and costs considerably less than conventional dent repair.

Where the dent is larger or the paint has been cracked or chipped, conventional repair is usually the route: filling, sanding, priming, and repainting the affected area. Which method suits a vehicle is a judgment call for the shop once the car is in front of it. Getting the car there is the part we handle.

Paint and Refinishing Work

Refinishing starts from the vehicle's factory paint code, which a shop uses with computerized color-matching equipment to mix a match for the panel being sprayed. A complete job normally runs through surface preparation, primer, base coat, clear coat, and a final polish, with the new finish blended into the surrounding panels so the repair does not stand out in daylight. Quality automotive paint systems are formulated to resist fading and chipping, which counts for something under Houston sun.

Paint work is carried out at the repair shop, not by Prime Towing LLC. If a vehicle is not safe to drive to that appointment, that is where we come in.

Frame Straightening

A bent or misaligned frame after a collision is more than a cosmetic issue. It compromises the structural integrity of the vehicle, affects handling and alignment, and can create serious safety hazards. Frame correction is done on measuring equipment that compares the vehicle against factory specifications and pulls the structure back into tolerance, and doors, hood, and trunk that no longer line up are often the first visible sign that something underneath has moved.

A vehicle with suspected frame damage generally should not be driven. Ours is the truck that brings it in: we can recover it from the scene or from wherever it is parked now and deliver it to our partner shop for assessment.

Insurance Claims After a Collision

A collision claim generally moves in a set order: you report the accident to your insurer, an adjuster reviews the damage, the repairing shop submits an estimate along with any supplements found once the vehicle is apart, and the insurer approves the covered work. Estimates and negotiation with the adjuster sit with the shop performing the repair. Prime Towing LLC is not a party to that process and does not prepare repair estimates.

One piece of advice worth passing on: do not lose the tow paperwork. Many Texas policies cover towing after a covered accident, and the tow is usually its own line on the claim. Check your policy or ask your adjuster what is covered before you decide where the vehicle goes.

Bumper Repair & Replacement

Bumpers take the brunt of impact in most collisions and fender benders. Depending on the damage, a plastic or fiberglass bumper cover can often be repaired and repainted rather than replaced. Modern bumpers also carry parking sensors, cameras, and radar brackets that have to be reinstalled correctly for those systems to behave, which is why bumper work on a newer vehicle is rarely as simple as it looks. When a cover is beyond repair, it is replaced with an OEM or aftermarket part and refinished to match.

Repairs range from polishing out light clear-coat marks to sanding, filling, priming, and repainting deeper gouges, then blending the finish into the surrounding panels.
